We love, love, love Twilight keepsakes!  Especially our Twilight jewelry. Not a day goes by that someone from Inspired by Twilight is sporting one of our very own quality bracelets or necklaces. We love wearing OTHER Twilight Keepsakes too. One of my favorites is our Twilight purses. We orginally bought these purses in Forks. Everytime we wear our purses we get stopped everywhere and people ask us “OMG!! Where did you get your purse?” So…. So I was in Costco the other day proudly wearing my Twilight hat I made myself. The girl behind the counter asked me, “So, are you a fan of the books or the  movies?” I looked at her. “The books of course!” I replied. She asked me if I had gone to see Eclipse and I said “Yes! My girlfriends and I went to see all three movies: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse! All ten of us!” I proclaimed. She looked at me and said… “Oh  you are one of those diehard fans…” I immediately defended myself and said “No…” but then I started thinking…

When does a Twilight Fan become a Twihard???

1. Read all four books in record time… yes, that’s us.

2. Read them again… mmm hmmm. Again and again!

3. Took a trip to Forks.  Okay, yes we did that. So awesome.

5. Attended Twilight Conventions as a Fan – yes two…

7. Started Twilight Facebook fan page. Yes…

8. Made lots of cool Twilight friends like me!

9. Attended New Moon and Eclipse Midnight Movie showings…

10. Bought Stephenie Meyer books for friends to get them hooked…

Okay, we are Twihards for sure. I can’t deny it…

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner made a special appearance at last night’s Twilight Convention in Los Angeles. Over 2,000 Twihards were in attendance! Rob, Kristen and Taylor arrived about a half hour late. When they walked through the doors the crowd went wild! They sat in three chairs on the stage and patiently waited for all the cheering to calm down. They members of The Hillywood Show asked questions from the audience. Bella claimed that they were all very tired since they had been up all night long doing Press junkets. Taylor seemed the most relaxed out of the bunch. Rob seemed fine too. We noticed he spent a lot of his time looking at Kristen during the interview process. Kristen seemed VERY uncomfortable. It is known that she is not comfortable doing interviews. She was visibly uncomfortable the entire time she was on stage. She was very fidgety and a bit nervous. I felt kind of sorry for her because you could tell they were all exhausted. You could hear various audience members yelling things such as “We Love You Rob” , “We Love You Taylor” “We Love You Kristen”! They responded to some of the audience comments. We were all very excited that they came. Audience was well behaved. Only one girl in the audience walked all the way up to the stage and stood there for one second before she was asked to leave. None of the stars acknowledged her presence. That was brave!

We went to the Twilight Eclipse convention yesterday and it was awesome! We saw the Cullen Family panel which included Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Ashley Greene (Ashley), and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper). They were on stage for approximately one hour and answered questions from the audience. Jackson and Peter were very funny!

We have gone to a couple of Twilight conventions before. But never to one that has so much STAR POWER. What should we expect at this convention. We are coming in on Friday because we are worried we will have trouble getting in and finding parking on Saturday. Will there be crowds of people outside camping out for a glimpse of the stars? Will there be unauthorized vendors selling merchandise on the street? What do you think?

They are a bunch of jealous boys… Really.

Moms, teenagers and even Grandmothers are being caught under the covers late at night with a booklight reading a novel from the Twilight series. Not only are they reading the entire four book series in record time, but many are reading the entire series for a second, third and even fourth time!

Why the obsession our husbands wonder? The Twilight Saga is a wonderful “getaway” from daily life. The simple story takes many of us back to the days of our own first love. It revisits our romantic ideals and conjures up feelings that many of us moms and grandmothers left behind years ago. In our youth we all dreamed of an Edward or a Jacob to profess their undying devotion and love for us. Most of us never experienced anything remotely close in real life, but we could dream… These kinds of characters we dreamed about exist in the Twilight Saga series and the storyline and details that surround the vampires and wolves is captivating. That is why we are obsessed with the books. We become a part of this “fantastical” imaginary environment and the majority of us can absolutely identify with average, coming-of-age “Bella”.

I am 37, a married woman and mother with two small boys. I run a part-time business out of my home and serve as an officer in the PTA at my son’s elementary school. My plate is full, however, I would always make time for my Twilight fix. My husband accused me of being obsessive with Twilight. I quickly denied it. However, my obsession became more undeniable when my annual “girl trip” destination took a turn and headed for Forks, Washington instead of Las Vegas or even Palm Springs. Regardless, I denied my own obsession until I found myself designing a “fun” website for me and my three girlfriends and our trip to Forks. On www.forksorbust.com we documented our trip and updated the site daily with commentary and photos. Obsessive? Well, maybe little bit.

Less than a month after our return home we started our own business venture. Our various travels to Twilight related venues (yes, another obsession) made us realize that the quality merchandise we were seeking did not exist. So, we created our own website, http://inspiredbytwilight.com/, and opened up our own store. Here we design and develop affordable high quality items such as sterling silver jewelry, t-shirts and hats that will satisfy the true Twilight fan. We have sold at Twilight Conventions. We have attended Twilight Conventions as fans. We have made many great friends as a result of our Twilight Obsession! We love the girls at Twilightmoms.com, Twiligthish.com, BellasDiary.com, Team-Twilight.com, Kimmymakesscents.com, Twigear.com, the Hillywoods, and the list goes on!

We are bummed that the special Twilight Eclipse Convention would not allow outside vendors in. Inspired By Twilight has been vendors at several of the Twilight Conventions in 2010, however, this particular event was closed to outside vendors. Only licensed Summit vendors are allowed to participate. I guess that includes retailers like Hot Topic, Nordstroms, Summit and any other big retailer. The problem is that fans are going to miss out on all the cool handmade stuff the REAL TWILIGHT INSPIRED Fans create! People like Twigear.com, Kimmymakesscents.com, and inspiredbytwilight.com (US!). Maybe we can sell on the street corner! haha. Anybody know how??

Okay. We bought our tickets to the Twilight Trilogy. Show starts at 6:30 where we will watch Twilight, then New Moon, then Eclipse at midnight!! We did this last year and in order to get a good seat you have to show up early! We are going to be there by 4pm to save our spot. Eight of us girls are going together! We bought our tickets through AMC Entertainment. Also available on Fandango.com and Movietickets.com! Who’s going??

We are going to see Rob, Taylor and Kristen in Los Angeles at the Twilight Convention June 11 – 13th! We bought our tickets and reserved a room. I think it will be crazy there on Saturday! Who is going? Are you staying at the hotel?
